This month two big things happened in the AI world at once: the generative AI apps ChatGPT and Midjourney presented new versions of their already impressive algorithms. Around the same time, the James Webb telescope, for the first time in history, captured changes in the atmosphere of an exoplanet in another star system across several parameters at once. Meanwhile, on our planet people keep planning their future by horoscopes, turning to fortune tellers for psychological help and building relationships by Tarot cards.
So why not merge these two very different worlds into one by creating an AI character, Doctor Skamowski (that’s what I call 99.7% of business coaches, psychics, fortune tellers, personal growth trainers and other scamologists in everyday life). Looks like the word scamologist isn’t widely used either. Pity…
Of course, I could just laugh at friends who still believe in magic and horoscopes in 2023. But that’s not my style. Better to create a character with ChatGPT and MJ and hook it up to Telegram via WordPress. All the texts (including the guru’s biography) were written by ChatGPT, and all the illustrations were generated by Midjourney.
The backgrounds on the site rotate randomly from 12 available ones, to emphasize the automation. The graphics in the articles are generated from a template MJ prompt (versions 3 and 5). The character (and ChatGPT handles prompt history well) is trained mostly on yoga and astrology, but overall it copes easily with any kind of esoterica. Examples of generated texts: Asanas for diarrhea and Cars by zodiac sign
Just like a real astrologer, ChatGPT… I mean Doctor Skamowski skillfully plays on the stereotypes of the signs, mixing positive information with a dash of neutral in just the right proportion (and, of course, giving a new random result every time).
He may misread the request, but he never disappoints:
Unfortunately, the new version of the GPT algorithm has stricter filters, including against generating nonsense. So Doctor Skamowski is definitely more objective in his articles and advice than the average scamologist. But he is still able to give you spiritual advice in the difficult times of the Age of Aquarius.
